There is a good chance that one of the Loosely Tea Company's founders hasn't yet folded the laundry from a few days ago; it's actually probably still in the washer. There is an equally good chance another forgot to put on their eye cream last night... if we remembered where we put the jar from last night. Oh, and one of us definitely forgot to take out whatever we were going to make for dinner tonight. Don't even get us started with the vitamins we're supposed to be taking or remind us about the time we fell asleep on the treadmill instead of walking on it (*ahem* Amanda). We are busy women, and busy women forget things, especially taking time out for ourselves.
Our story begins in 2020, when two friends were trying to figure out how we could survive a pandemic whilst simultaneously homeschooling kids, attempting to hide online deliveries from husbands, gaining and losing the Covid-'19 pounds' and training a puppy (only one of us did that last one though. RIP Meg's house). We wanted to feel better, but were so overwhelmed we didn't know what to do or where to start on achieving our wellness goals.
One of us wanted to learn how to meditate. One of us wanted to lose weight. We both wanted to find a way to make our quarantined skin look good and find ways to boost our immune systems. We had goals, visions and plans but found ourselves unable to find the time, desire and energy to commit to long, drawn out self-care routines that would enable us to succeed on those journeys.
A joke was made over a text conversation that some days the only thing we had time to do that was "good for us" was to grab a cup of tea because, you know, it's water and you need water to survive. No matter how busy you are or how much you don't want to do it, you still need to drink at least something every day to stay alive. That's science... and how the Loosely Tea Company was born.
